Lockdown lifted at Riverdale Collegiate Institute: Toronto police

A lockdown at Riverdale Collegiate Institute has been lifted after Toronto police found “no viable threat.”

Shortly before noon, police said on X that they received a call about the threat at the school, located at Jones Avenue and Gerrard Street East. They said the call came in around 10:50 a.m.

The Toronto District School Board confirmed the incident in a statement sent to families and obtained by CP24.

In an update shortly after 1 p.m., police said the lockdown had been lifted after “no viable threat” was detected.
